Sarissa discovered Aerial Yoga in January of 2014, and it was love at first flight. She first found grounded yoga 2 years prior, and was regularly practicing with many great teachers in Houston. Once she added a silk hammock to her world, she had to share the fun and awesomeness with anyone and everyone who would listen or that she could get in a silk. She studied extensively under Nicole Haagenson, the founder of Aerial Yoga Houston, and completed her aerial yoga teacher training in April of 2014. She was an AYH Angel, teaching Workshops, Basics, Level 1 and Level 2 Aerial Yoga classes. She continues to work with Aerial Yoga Houston via video chat to develop this new and evolving fitness/yoga/art form. Sarissa has worked for the past 12 years as a professional dance stage manager, and is excited to grow into this new version of herself as an aerial yoga instructor and business owner with her mother, Teresa. In 2015, Sarissa will be actively pursuing her 200-hour teacher training from the Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health.
